The Shop Bell is run by me, Mladen Gorchev, a freelance Shopify developer in London. I’m responsible for any personal information you share through this website. If you have a question, email me at mladen@theshopbell.co.uk.
What I collect and why
- When you email me or ask for a free store check — your name, email address, store link and whatever you tell me, so I can reply and do the check. The form on this site simply opens your own email app; nothing is stored on the website.
- When you join my newsletter — your email address, so I can send you my monthly tips. I only email you because you asked me to, and you can unsubscribe from any email with one click.
- If you accept cookies — anonymous information about how the site is used (pages visited, rough location, device type), so I can see what’s useful and improve it.
I never sell your information, and I don’t add you to any list you didn’t sign up for.
Who helps me
A few trusted services handle information on my behalf:
- Klaviyo — stores newsletter subscribers and sends my emails, and (with your consent) shows sign-up forms on this site.
- Google Analytics — measures how the site is used, only if you accept cookies.
- Google Workspace — my business email.
- Vercel — hosts this website.
Some of these companies store data outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where that happens, they use the legal safeguards required by UK data protection law.
How long I keep it
- Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
- Emails and store check requests: up to two years after we last spoke, unless we work together, in which case I keep business records for as long as the law requires.
Cookies
This site only uses cookies that aren’t essential if you say yes. When you first visit, a small box asks you; until you choose, nothing is loaded.

Your choice itself is remembered in your browser’s local storage (tsb-cookie-consent), so I don’t ask on every page.
Your rights
You can ask me for a copy of the information I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to how I use it. Just email mladen@theshopbell.co.uk and I’ll reply within a month.
If you’re not happy with how I’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
